Wrongful arrest case involving innocent individuals who were falsely arrested of crimes they did not commit. The so-called “Dallas Fake Drug Scandal” led to the largest settlement ever with the City of Dallas and the Dallas Police Department involving a single group of civil rights claimants. A Parker County jury awarded a substantial victory to a Virginia trucker who sustained neck and back injuries in Weatherford by the negligent driver of an Oklahoma trucking company. Upon appeal of the $3.3 million verdict, the plaintiff ultimately settled for $2.058 million, netting the injured plaintiff $1,212,970 after attorneys’ fees of $823,200 and expenses of $21,830.00. Product liability case involving a worker who lost an arm as a result of an electrical shock. The plaintiffs received $1,097,234 after attorney’s fees of $801,250 and expenses of $101,516.

A First Amendment civil rights suit against the McLennan County Sheriff for retaliating and firing or demoting 9 deputies because of their political affiliation and support of his opponent during campaign elections. A civil rights action involving the false arrest and malicious prosecution of a woman for the alleged murder of her boyfriend, who had committed suicide, against the City of Dallas. Plaintiff netted $684,604 after cases expenses of $35,396 and attorneys fees of $480,000. (See related article)
